Pemikiran Pendidikan Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas
Abstract
This article discusses the educational thinking of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. The results of the study showed that Syed Muhammad Al-Attas Naquib view that education is a process of planting something into man. Al-Attas argues that the proper term for Islamic education is ta'dib, not tarbiyah or study groups. According to him, the concept of structure ta'dib already includes elements of science ('ilm), instruction (ta’lim) and good coaching (tarbiyah). Adab is a discipline of the body, soul and spirit. Discipline which confirms the introduction and recognition of the right place in relation to the ability and potential physical, intellectual and spiritual. Syed Muhammad Al-Attas Naquib view that the curriculum covers three important things, which is about science and science hierarchy; emphasis on sincere attitude, patient, and honest, as well as the authority and position of teachers.References
