Implementasi Multiple Intelligences di SMP Al Muttaqin Fullday & Boarding School Kota Tasikmalaya

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the view that prioritizes intellectual intelligence (IQ) is still too strong. Some educational practitioners still believe that intellectual intelligence is the only most important intelligence. In fact, there are at least nine intelligences according to Howard Gardner, namely visual-spatial, linguistic-verbal, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic and existential intelligence. The objectives of this research are (1) To determine and analyze multiple intelligence-based learning planning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at Al Muttaqin Junior High School, Tasikmalaya City. (2) To determine and analyze the implementation of multiple intelligences-based learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya Junior High School. (3) To find out and analyze the results of multiple intelligences-based learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya Junior High School.This study is qualitative research using a case study method. The data sources for this research are schools, teachers and students. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research results show that (1) Multiple intelligences-based learning planning for PAI subjects at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya Middle School is outlined in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) format. The RPP based on multiple intelligences in PAI subjects at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya Middle School contains competency standards, basic competencies, learning materials, learning activities, learning methods, indicators of competency achievement, assessment, time allocation and learning resources. Aspects of multiple intelligence are outlined in the five main elements of the RPP, namely learning materials, learning activities, learning methods, indicators of competency achievement, and learning assessment. (2) implementation or implementation of multiple intelligences-based learning in PAI subjects at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya Middle School refers to the RPP that the teacher has made. The elements of multiple intelligences implemented in learning activities are mainly elements of learning material, learning activities, learning methods, indicators of competency achievement, and learning assessment. The five main elements of learning contain (in turn) nine types of multiple intelligences. (3) the results of the application of multiple intelligences theory in Islamic religious education learning at Al Muttaqin Middle School include the following: (a) The application of multiple intelligences theory has succeeded in accommodating and recognizing the various potentials of students. (b) PAI learning materials based on multiple intelligences are apparently able to develop students' potential. (c) Application of multiple intelligences theory enriches learning methods. (d) The application of multiple intelligences theory succeeded in measuring students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities.
