Konsep Total Quality Management Edward Sallis dalam Perspektif Pendidikan Islam

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) is the integration of all functions of the organization into a holistic philosophy that is built on the concept of quality, teamwork, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Elements of TQM according to Edward Sallis are the improvements made continuous; elements of Kaizen (Kai = change and zen = good), which is a philosophy that focuses on the development and refinement is ongoing or continuous in the organization; elements of culture change; inverted organizational elements, namely the chain of effective internal-external where when a concept was successfully executed then there are enormous implications for the organization and the pattern of relationships that exist within it; elements maintain relationships with customers as well as meet the needs and desires of its customers; element colleagues as customers; elements of internal marketing; the element of professionalism and customer focus; elements of developing and maintaining the quality of learning. From the perspective of Islamic education, the TQM keywords correspond or coincide with the values of Islam. Quality in Islam is not only for life in the world alone, but includes also the hereafter. Islam has always stressed his people to do the job as well as possible, so that the job quality (Surat al-Kahf: 30; Surat an-Naml: 88; Surat al-An'am: 152; Surah Al-Maidah: 8; QS Az- Zumar: 9; Surah Fatir: 28).
